Benefits of 24 inch barrel over 20 inch versions.

Does anyone here handload and chronograph their 92's. I read another thread on 24 inch octagon barrels and thought it would be great to hear of actual chronograph velocities of differnent barrel lenght's. How much would you actually gain in downrange performance over a 16, 20 and 24 inch barrel.

Thanks everybody for the input. I actually thought the 24 inch barrel would have performed better than that, but I guess with pistol rounds they are designed for shorter barrel lenghts,so they don't gain as much velocity as a rifle round would. I like the looks of the 24 inch octagon over the 16 inch guns but the short reciever of a 92 d0esn't look as much out of porportion as say a 94 would. I guess what Im trying to say is, although my next gun will be a 24 inch one its more about my personal taste as opposed to functionality. COSteve did you remove your pics of your case harden 92. And have you came across enough of them to say if the coloring is simlar or do they all display their own uniqueness. I would thank each one has its own character.

I think that the benefits of longer barrels come to play with the reloaders with a chrono to test their loads and and find what works for their own load for sure Co steve has posted good results with his own findings for this. I still think the gain is viable for the length of the barrels and to steady the shot with the weight.
