Ruger certainly produces a very impressive looking Marlin, that's for sure !

Staggering price tho for what has always been considered a yeoman service hunting rig. Hard to see one of these new Marlins 'bouncing' around in a pick-up truck like old Marlins and Winchesters.

... can't really imagine a 1951 waffle-top Marlin now bouncing around in a pick up truck either these days.

It wouldn't surprise me to see them listed on GB for close to 2k and when the new 1894 .357 comes out I'll bet it's 2.5k...

My FFL quoted me MSRP, I don't think I'll pay any more than that.

I've got a Remlin 94c made in 2018. I wouldn't trade it for any JM marked 94. I really lucked out on that one.

I don't buy Marlins made after 2000 and I will never pay that much for a Ruger copy of one even though it looks well made. Rugers and Marlins are supposed to be well built and inexpensive but with $750 new Single Sixes and $900 new Blackhawks, inflation has killed prices on everything.

Without a doubt , Ruger has produced the best Marlin's ever made.

I got this one in mid April.

lol, I don't think that I've ever seen a poster so negative as you. I sense a lot of jelly.

You should really take a long look at JM, Remington and Ruger guns. Rather then post what you have read you'll actually have some experience. Without a doubt Remington and Ruger have made the best Marlins ever made. JM guns were never all that great.

That Ruger is a nice looking rifle on a real pretty blanket, but I beg to differ on the bold typed part. I wouldn't swap this old 1955 JM for two new ones.



It still gets used hard and yes, thrown in a case behind the pickup seat. I wipe it down with an oily rag two or three time a year out of respect.
