You have enjoyed great moments with your Dad RD. I never got to spend much time with mine except when we were working the farm. Those were good times, but I wish we could have spent some time in the woods. I can only remember us hunting together one time. In those days, every farm had a spot where they dumped their trash. Ours was on a rocky little knoll that had native grass and was overgrown with sumac. We went rabbit hunting one Sunday and we went home with enough rabbits to feed us for some time. I'm the only one in my family that enjoyed hunting and shooting.
The area I live in used to be good for quail hunting. Now we have so many wild turkeys that the quail don't stand a chance. I think it has been at least 3 years since I've seen a covey. I'd much rather have the quail.

At my age, there IS nothing better than shooting.
