Bill also offers stainless steel magazine springs for the RG3030 and he sent me one for my rifle that has been rebored/rechambered to 38-55 Win. With the two new stainless steel parts, it spit those cartridges out with their big 250-grain bullets! The spring is the 73 X 24" spring. Though I live in semi-arid South Texas, the moisture we see is heavily influenced by the Gulf and it salt content. I've always pulled my Marlin magazine springs annually but I welcome the the chance to have the stainless. I've order them for all three of my R92s. Springs are $12.
I sent Bill my RG4570 spring and he took the necessary measurements. He would need to see a demand of a RG specific spring as he would need to order 1K springs, a minimum through his supplier. At his suggestion, I tried his '73 24" spring. So far it has worked with a tube full of cartridges using my 300 and 350-grain bullets. I will be working with my 425-grain bullet next week as I develop a load from my nilgai hunt with this rifle.Strawdawg wrote:I called Bill English and he confirmed that the 30-30 spring for the 20" barrel would be the 73-24. Nice guy!
