R92 45 Colt Range Day
Finally took my R92 45 Colt stainless with 20 inch barrel to the range today to start breaking it in. I bought this rifle in late 2015 to replace one like it that was lost in a wildfire in Sept 2015. I put 50 rounds through that I had loaded up a few weeks back with Starline brass, Federal primers, Sierra 240 gr JHC bullets on top of CFE Pistol powder. This was the 1st time using CFE Pistol in a 45 Colt loading. The rifle shot very nice at 50 yards which is about the limit with old eyes & the stock iron sights of the rifle. Shot placement was POA with 2 inch groups on shoot-n-see 12 inch square targets. Felt good to get the rifle out finally punching holes in paper.

Re: R92 45 Colt Range Day
Haven't shot mine in a couple of months. Just loaded up some 250 gr RNFP over Unique. My range is on my property so I will definitely get some trigger time...when the rains have passed.

Going forward, I will be just loading 250 gr cast RNFP to shoot in the R92. I do like Unique, but I don't have any at the moment. But I do have lots of Red Dot on hand.

Re: R92 45 Colt Range Day
Looking forward to taking my R92 to the range to shoot some reloads. It is a 44 Mag in a similar configuration to your rifle; stainless 20" barrel, shoots factory 44 ammo perfectly. I have some mild to mid loads of unique with 200 and 240 grain projectiles to try out. Should be fun!
