Laminate stock R92
Hey fellas, happy Saturday to all...
It looks like Rossi has jumped on the laminate band wagon. I'm not a big fan of laminate. I think if I did buy a lever gun with a laminate stock it would be one of the new Marlins that Ruger is/will produce.

Re: Laminate stock R92
I have to agree with golfish. I have a laminate stock on my Marlin SBL and still haven't "warmed up to it" yet. It also has the big goofy loop lever that will, one of these days, will get cut and welded to a more normal size. I just think the darker colored solid wood stocks on both of my blued 92(s) appeals to my "traditionalist" taste in firearms.
As far as the big goofy lever loop goes, I have one rifle with the normal sized loop and the other has a 3/4 sized large loop. I bought it "as is" on the rifle and don't really notice, too much, the differences. I will say that if it had been equipped with the full-sized large loop, that would have been a deal breaker for me.

It looks like they're selling for around $900.00. I think they hit the market at the right time. You look at what the new Ruger Marlins are going for and it kind of makes sense.
It's a matter of time before Ruger brings the 94c to the table.

I would have thought that was a Ruger if you didn't say.
Like the Ruger, it's cool except the stainless steel, laminate, large loop, lever wrap, rail, sights, and butt pad. Those are the deal breakers for me. The rest is spot on.
$900 is too much for the Ruger so I would not consider paying that for the Rossi in the least.

There's one for sale on Texas Gun Trader. It's in Austin and has a advertised price of $1128.

Appears someone at Rossi is reading into current marketing trends and trying to keep up ... good taste notwithstanding.

Saw that specimen on their site. May not be that crazy of a price considering the location - Austin, TX. Might go along with (actually saw this) a guy buying gas wearing a pair of purple? cowboy boots.

There is also a 357 Mag laminate stock 92 in Dallas for sale on the Texas Gun Trader for a bit less.
At least Rossi finally posted a '22 catalog.
