According to this snap from the CJ Manual one must change the choke to the thread protector (which i read is essentially a cylinder bore) to fire 45LC or 410 slugs and the rifled choke to fire any other 410 shot load
My question is can I not? If i just wanted to *safely* fire say 000 buck and 45LC couldnt i install the tgread protector choke and 'set it and forget it'? What do i lose besides accuracy/patterning with shot loads?

Re: Question RE CJ Chokes?
I think you could go with Option #2 and then do a pattern test at various distances to see if the performance is acceptable. I probably would use a very good choke tube grease especially if you are not going to remove it. When you want it to come out, you will want it to come out.

Re: Question RE CJ Chokes?
Nice, hadnt considered chokes getting stuck. Despite my reluctance to remove a choke id more likely take it out during cleaning anyway so i guess what i really eanted to avoid was switching them
The good folks at 410handgun.com did pattern testing and a number of firearms in 410 anf even with the rifled choke out it patternd surprisingly well http://410handguns.com/rossi.html
Thanks for the info
