How to remove a stock from a single shot
How to remove a stock from a single shot
How do I revmove a stock from a Rossi single shot rifle ? What size bolt holds the stock on to the frame ? Is it metic or standard ?
Re: How to remove a stock from a single shot
First, remove the butt pad. The bolt can then be seen deep down in the hole drilled in the buttstock. I can't remember the size of the bolt head, but it unscrews just like any other bolt. I find it best to hold the frame in a padded vise when I remove the buttstocks on these type of rifles and shotguns.

11mm and 7/16" are the same.
13mm and 1/2" are the same.
14mm and 9/16" are very close.
16mm and 5/8" are the same.
I bet it's one of those.

I'd have said 13mm and 1/2" were very close.
Having had a mid 80s vehicle with a mix of standard and metric on it I know a half inch bolt is too large for a 12mm and a 13mm 12 point is pretty loose on it.
