Not to be a downer but you might have to pull the bolt. Not that bad really, right?
Let's hope it comes out without extra disassembly.

The cerrosafe will melt and cool faster. When it cools it really shrinks in comparison to other lead alloys. That is why you need to withhold your chamber measurements for 48 hours or apply the math for the product from the exact time cast. If you spill any lead, and you will, it will be hell to clean up. You will need to heat the metal to remove it. Cerrosafe spills peel away. No way would I use the lead, you are going to compound your problems. The Cerrosafe, when shrinking, should adhere well to the brass.Maximumbob54 wrote:From my run of luck with these things I guess I may as well order some cerosafe. Before I do that though, is there a reason you can't just use lead? I cannot imagine 600ish degree lead is going to do anything to the heat treatment of the steel.
A couple of questions:
- I take it the bullet left the barrel?
- What does the primer look like?
- Is this 38 Spl or 357 Mag brass?
- Did the chronograph record the velocity of the shot? If so, what was it?

Hey Max, I've got to come up with some type of Ranch Dog award based on experiences. The award would be for someone that is always poking around in the dark spaces just like a ranch dog does. Sooner or later they come back with something locked on to their snout, limping on more than one leg, or just smelling really odd.
This would not be making fun of an individual but admiration of one as I also know the determination of my namesake. Hell's to pay for whatever sent them packing. Sooner or later whatever caused them heartache is drug home as a trophy!

Re: R92 357 Mag vs. Lee C358-200-RF
A couple of questions:
My concern is that the long body length of the C358-200-RF is working the case wall too deep and creating the issue rather than the recurring use of a specific piece of brass.
This is just eyeballing the capacity with the full load but it didn't even look compressed.
It's only a hair deeper in the case than the workhorse bullet:
Come to think of it, when I gas check the workhorse it's probably that hair deeper.
I will go ahead and order the cerrossafe in a day or two if the oil won't loosen it any. That would once again be my luck to spill lead everywhere in the action.
If I won an award it would be for nothing ever working right the first time. Or usually the second. Or sometimes third. Fourth. OK, fifth sometimes even. But hey, it's the journey and not the destination, right???
- I take it the bullet left the barrel?
Yup. That at least went right. - What does the primer look like?
Looks normal to me. - Is this 38 Spl or 357 Mag brass?
Old milsurp .38 brass that I picked just because the case walls are a little thicker. - Did the chronograph record the velocity of the shot? If so, what was it?

Y'all are going to have to excuse me but I'm off to go buy a fist full of lotto tickets...
I cannot believe it came out on the first try.

So what was the trick that got it out?

He got it out already. RD was asking him to retry the load/chrono.....I think.

FWIW looks this bullet design comes in 2-cavity (90449) and 6-cavity (90016) if I see it correctly. Correct me if I'm wrong.
