So my firing pin tip broke on my 62sa about 8 months ago. I thought I was able to get one when I sent my broken one in to Bob's Gun shop because he said he'd match it. Well they sent my original back saying they couldn't. I have been lookin at Numrich's website and they have been out of stock for months.
I know this is far fetched but does anyone know where else I can look or possibly an extra? I know the 62sa and 62sac use the same firing pin but I'm not sure about the regular 62? I'm guessing the regular 62 doesn't have the safety notch in the firing pin.

I'm betting the safety notch could be cut into it with a Dremel tool. Worth a try I Rembert looking for one a while back with no luck. Maybe you will get lucky. Sorry I cannot help more. If I come across one I will post here asap.

What I would recommend is that you go to ebay and setup a search notification.
Start with "Rossi 62" in the search box and select the "Hunting" category. Use the minus symbol to remove unwanted results but don't eliminate everything, if no 62 parts appear like today, ebay then throws an assortment of goods up. Next select "Follow This Search" and hope someone lists the part.
Parts are a real issue with the older Rossi's. I could not find a trigger guard for my Single Shot and Rossi would not sell me one. I could not return the rifle either as it was a pre-Braztech rifle. So I went to ebay and after a couple of weeks one was listed as a fellow was parting out a Single Shot. I bought the need part for a couple of bucks.
ebay is actually a pretty good way to go if you hit a parts snag with an out of production rifle. Parting it out is better than selling it as firearm needing repair on the gun auction sites. I watched that parted out Single Shot sell for about $350! You just cannot sell the serialized receiver on ebay but that could go on a gun auction site.

Re: 62sa firing pin needed
Here is a site that has many Winchester 62a parts, including firing pins.
Is it possible an original might fit a Rossi???

I haven't looked at that website in awhile but at one time there was a specific notice that the Winchester parts did not fit the like model Rossi's.Conman wrote:Here is a site that has many Winchester 62a parts, including firing pins.

Depends on the part, I installed an extractor for the winchester 62 on my Rossi tonight from there. I did have to file down the flat behind the hook to allow the hook to move in a little closer to the casings head.Ranch Dog wrote:I haven't looked at that website in awhile but at one time there was a specific notice that the Winchester parts did not fit the like model Rossi's.Conman wrote:Here is a site that has many Winchester 62a parts, including firing pins.
