Ammo for Lever Action Rossi 92 44 magnum Rifle

Post by zurichsurfer »

I read in some magazine someone mentioned if you put a higher grain in than 240 into the Rossi 92 44 magnum or 44 special ammo into your Rossi 92 Lever Action 44 magnum It will screw up your Rifle!

ANY TRUTH?

The Henry Big Boy is the only 44 MAG lever action I ever heard of where the manufacturer suggested 265 grain or lighter bullets; and I think that was OAL related.

A heavier bullet wont hurt your rifle.
Maybe the magazine article was thinking that a heavier bullet would not stabilized in the rossi due to the rifling twist.
Or they may be thinking that a heavier bullet would increase the OAL and it would not cycle.
A heavier bullet loaded properly will work just fine.
