Can't do 16"Mad Trapper wrote:https://taylorsfirearms.com/catalog/pro ... tegory/59/
Can't do octagon
But I did find the right one for me on the previous page. Right about the time I start considering to consolidate to NATO cartridges only.

So you need a Winchester Model 88 in 308. Post 1964 with a recoil pad to keep the stock from cracking.GasGuzzler wrote:Right about the time I start considering to consolidate to NATO cartridges only.

My vote for a NATO caliber lever would go for a Browning BLR in .308. Mine came with the scope mount in the box and you can get additional mags pretty easy.
(The Henry is probably easier to find.)
And because GG started the NATO comments I'll mention the BLR was also produced in stainless with a laminated stock as well as blued.

Both excellent options. If you want to add a unicorn to the list, how about a Sako Finnwolf?

Was the Savage 99 available in takedown after they introduced the 243/308 action length? Or after they introduced the detachable mags? Not that Iām eager to pay $100+ for a magazine.

Re: Used 92 44 prices??
I dont know.
The only thing that draws me to the 99 savage is the rotary mag, so there are no detachable mags for me to lose.
you see, I am a klutz, if it can be removed from the firearm, I will lose it.

That doesn't mean I need a 7.62X51 it just means I probably don't need any more .45 Colts.Mad Trapper wrote:no,no,no.HarryAlonzo wrote:So you need a Winchester Model 88 in 308.
