Re: Official R92 Picture Thread
Finally got around to doing a little finish work on the Trapper. 4 coats of TruOil followed up by a coat of Stock Sheen to knock down the high gloss a bit and then polished with Meguiars ultimate. It's a heck of a lot better than the non-existent stock finish.

Looking great! I don't mind doing a little work on the wood, and Rossi guns are already blued pretty nice so they do clean up and look fantastic pretty easily.
No such thing as bad weather in Alaska, just lousy clothing choices!

Well done, Rossi's respond quite well to the Tru-Oil finish!

Thanks all. If it shoots & cycles .357 rounds with no problem I will be one happy camper! If not then my 20 years as a Marine gunsmith will be put to use. It will get there one way or another...

Re: Official R92 Picture Thread
Nice little Trapper.
The Tru-Oil is a good preservative & moisture sealant as well as an appearance enhancer & very easy to work with.
Pretty hard to screw up.
I just slopped the Tru-Oil on my M92/454 and it still looks half decent........not as good as the Trapper pictured above but half decent.
I see the leather finger lever covers are catching on........seeing them more & more often on the board now.

Re: Official R92 Picture Thread
This is BESSIE MY 44 MAG. WITH 24 INCH OCTAGON BARREL. Note the Tipton's gun vice. This little tool is great for working on your guns. These are my 2 Rossi's.This my first attempt of posting pictures here. The carbine is named Baby and has had some poor gunsmith work done to her. I will most likely have to fix the front sights my self as it is evident the gunsmith had no idea what he was doing. Bessie is the 24 inch barreled rifle in the pics. These pictures are after cleaning and my first attempt at stock refinishing. The little carbine had some exceptional wood on it and has been refinished by her orginal owner (Pig Guy) from Marlin Owner's forum.
