Re: Taurus Thunderbolt
Neat. Good solution, and I like the .38-40 too.
Two wraps of electrical tape around the .45 Colt case, and it still fit? Wow.

This is what I had considered with both Circuit Judges, new barrels, as they were an absolute mess.Barry in IN wrote:Neat. Good solution, and I like the .38-40 too.

Re: Taurus Thunderbolt
Drifting a little, but did any of those Lightning sorta-copies work out?
I always heard they had problems, but since the ones telling me that usually couldn't name any of the manufacturers, I didn't know if it was one of those "it's true because everybody says it" kind of things. Sometimes I'd hear someone got it sorted out, but I don't think I heard the same name mentioned, so I never knew.
Since there were suddenly four or five places making them, I figured someone had to get it wrong starting up so quick. Whether that was one maker and they all got a bad reputation, or they were all bad, I have no idea.
I don't shoot CAS, but I don't think the game was taken over by them. That probably tells the story.

Re: Taurus Thunderbolt
I believe that the Taurus product, especially the final rifles, where pretty good. 357 Mag was better than the 45 Colt from what I read. Bud's still has the 45 Colt and I really fight with myself over buying one or not. If my R92 454 Casull wasn't giving me so much grief I would probably buy one but... Will detail my issue in about post.

Hmmm, I may look into that sometime. About once a year, the Lightnings get to me and sound real appealing.
Nobody makes a takedown do they? That would be neat.

Re: Taurus Thunderbolt
That was amazing. I don't know how many times I've drooled over the stainless rifle thinking of buying it but just like he says I've read too many reviews saying the chamber is beyond sloppy to ensure good feeding. They say case life is terrible and many cases split after only a few reloads. They just seem like they would be such fun rifles.
