Well, I still have my two. A 2013 (bought new) R92 44 mag, blued with 20" barrel, and a 2012 (bought used in 2015) R92 357 mag, stainless with 16" barrel. All I did to the 44 mag was refinish the wood and filed/reshaped the ejector. As for the 357, it just got a good wood refinishing with Watco Danish oil.
Several thousand rounds (90% cast) through both of them, and they are breaking in nicely. I already understand that if they "break", I'm on my own.

Re: 30-30 loading gate
The Rio Grande's only problem is that they are unsupported. When Rossi drops a model, they drop it.
I had three of them and sold two; the one that I had rechambered to 38-55 Win and the 45-70 Govt. Nice rifles, but I'm just not shooting them. I have one left, a gun that I rechambered to 30-30 AI. The chamber needs a bit more polishing, and then I will probably sell it.

It's a lot easier if you have a GOOD part to act as a pattern.
When you are trying to replace a busted part that may be missing half of it or even the whole thing that's no easy choir.
