Re: Casull: 250grs FTX, Sierra 300grs JSP
i have used the 300gr XTP over 29gr of H110, should work with the Sierra too.
just realized you said N110 not H, so dis-regard that load.

Thanks
Can you look at gunpowder N105?
I thought it was close to the R123 which is not made anymore by Norma
Have some No.9 gunpowder at home so can You tell me what the charge is with No. 9

Re: Casull: 250grs FTX, Sierra 300grs JSP
I edited your post to remove the quote because I updated the data, didn't want any confusion now or down the road. I added Accurate #9 and N105 per your request. I had also meant to list the charges on the top velocity loads, which I left out, so I corrected that as well. Good luck in your shooting.callekniven wrote:Thanks

Re: Casull: 250grs FTX, Sierra 300grs JSP
Thanks again
how much can I compress N110?
I wonder only because in VihtaVuori reloading guide (2004)
You can load
Speer 300grs PlatedHp with N110, 26.4grs - 28.7grs col 1,752
XTP 250grs N110, 28.1grs - 30.7grs col 1,685
must be heavy compression there or ?

Re: Casull: 250grs FTX, Sierra 300grs JSP
I used the Quick Load program in conjunction with Barnes Reloading Manual #4 to conjecture a 45-70 load using the cannelured Barnes Original FNSP (conventional copper/lead construction) 400 grain bullet @ H4198 powder.
The Barnes bullet I chose wasn't one of the available selections so I had to enter the length of the bullet itself.
I measured 3 and they were all 1.022".
The manual specified COAL was 2.515".
If the program algorithms are accurate some of the loads in Barnes Manual #4 are "up there" in predicted maximum pressure.
The program is very user friendly with pop up message boxes explaining the functions of the command buttons on the user interface when you "mouse over" them.
It's nice how you can save the particulars of a load in a ".dat" file to a folder on your PCs HD for future reference.
