Hello from Auckland, NZ
Hi folk. Just bought my 2nd Rossi Puma, this one in 16" 44Mag. Waiting for it to arrive. Had the first one, a 20" in 357Mag for about 4 years now. Wonderful rifle for getting around the hills and bush. Both are stainless. I have access to feral goats, feral pig (hogs), deer of various species but most available to me are fallow, red and sika. Small game includes rabbit (cottontail), hare, (Jackrabbit), wallaby (Australian imports). I mostly use the 357 for goat and use other calibres for deer etc. Always wanted a 44mag. I'm an avid reloader for a range of pistol and rifle calibres. In the 357 I've developed 158gn FP coated cast bullet loads doing 2000 fps from magnum brass and around 1600 fps from 38 brass (with slightly over max powder charge - Pistol data). Carefully worked up of course. Both deadly on goats out past 100m with iron sights. We don't have any closed season as they are all introduced species and designated pests. So I can get out whenever life and weather permits. Anyway that's my 2 cents worth. Looks like hours of useful reading on the forum. Thks for having me. I'll lurk for a time.
