Nice snag. I don't do buys like that so I imagine it will take forever for me to find the right deal.
You could be right about the era. Judging by some of the small details (barrel and tang markings, trigger, front sight color) it's newer than my '87. I'd guess closer to the just before the Taurus/Braztech buyout.

...and it's stamped SRC but has no ring. I didn't know an octogon was a carbine.
