Ok it's not a 45/70 but it is probably as close as one can get in a semi auto!
16" Carbine 458 Socom Upper receiver on AR-15 Lower. Took just over 2 months to get the upper from RRA. An AR15 10rd mag holds three 458 Socom rounds. and a 30rd Mag will hold ten of them.
My first loads where 405gr Remington bullets with 33grains of IMR 4198. Averaging 1296 FPS.
My 2nd loads where 500gr fmj Hornady bullets averaging 800 fps.

Re: My Semi Auto 45/70!
Nice looking gun !
Somebody did convert a Browning BAR (the hunting rifle) to 416 Taylor a few years back...........I read the write up..........impressive !
That's the heaviest caliber shoulder firing hunting gun configured SA that I ever heard of.
Those ARs people call "black guns"..........better watch Obama doesn't ban them..............like with Billary they're one of his pet peeves.
