Rossi Rifleman

I have an EMI Hartford model 92 that in 45 Colt that has a groove diameter of .454 at the muzzle and .455 at the back. I would like to replace the barrel with either a new 45 Colt barrel or a 44/40. I would appreciate chamber recommendations, twist rate recommendations, barrel manufacturer and a gunsmith willing to do the work. In my area if it is not a black rifle or long range bolt gun no one seems to be interested. I have not found anyone that makes replacement barrels for this rifle.
I plan to hunt deer with either caliber.
I know that some will say you shouldn't change one of these rifles they are to valuable but it has no value to me if it won't group.

I cant help on a smith or barrel source. I am just interested in following your path in what you do and why. Keep us posted

You might check with Steve at Steve's Gunz and see if he can do it or knows somebody. Our local smiths are pretty much like yours are.

To each his own but I would look more locally and less towards keyboard heroes.
