Rossi Rifleman

Average half ton price is over $40K. Suburban is about $55K. When I started in the business (1993) a nice half ton was $15K and a Suburban was $22K.

I get it.

At $600.00 the quality would have to be better than the one I paid $400 for 4 years ago.
For me anyway.

While I have 2 Rossi 357mags myself, I was curious as to why Rossi's web page only showed R92s in 45 colt and also why 357mags are as scarce as hens teeth. So, in late November I called Rossi CS and found out the following.

• Rossi (Braztech) CS said that they moved to a new Brazilian manufacturing plant last year which dramatically slowed / stopped production. Their CS department has been advised that shipments of their R92 rifles in 357mag, 44mag, and 45colt from the new manufacturing plant should commence 1st of 2018.

• Further, they stated that Rossi has no plans to discontinue their current calibers and that once production is fully underway in the new facility, adequate stocks should be available to cover demand.

• As to their website only showing R92s in 45 colt, Rossi is also redoing their R92 website to update both the models and versions they will carry and give it a newer look and feel. That means that the current website is more of a placeholder rather than an indication of the calibers they are producing.

• When I called them back last month they stated that their first shipment was due soon and that they then would be arranging for shipments to their larger customers and distributors depending upon how many of each type and when they receive them.

• When I called them this afternoon they stated that their first shipment was now due between now and the end of the 1st quarter. They anticipate that they will be available in stores NLT end of May 2018.

Great info, maybe next year theyll pick up the Rio Grande line again (or Ranch Hands or octagon 92s)

I wish they would bring back the 454 Casull. I am very impressed with the one I just got.

It doesn't seem that Braztech is very smart, but than what do I know. All of the 357 models have sold like crazy, the 454 has always seemed to be a good seller. I've had this box of 327mag (always were your reading glasses when buying ammo) for 5 years, Id love to see a model 92 in 327, I bet that would rock the levergun world.

Put them together. I think a Ranch Hand in .410 would be interesting. Definitely would be a good bet in snake country. There are some pretty good .410 defense rounds too.

The 92 action doesn't have the bolt throw to accommodate a .410. Now, if Rossi started cloning a Winchester Model 71 . . .

They made Rio Grande chambered in 410.

That kind of niche innovation would (or should, rather) be right up Taurus' alley. A mares leg Rio Grande in 410 would be the talk of the town in the gun world and look how popular the shorty pistol shotguns are now from Mossberg and Remington. As limg as they keet the ATF rules that would sell like crazy
