Hello from SoCal

New member from Riverside, CA checking in.

Been around guns my whole life, but didn't get serious and become an enthusiast until I was thirty. I'm in my early fifties now and have developed a liking for lever guns.

My search for information on a recent purchase of a used Chiappa model 1892 44 mag brought me to this site.

I currently own three levers; a Browning BL22 bought in '03, a Rossi R92 in .38/.357 bought in '13, and a Chiappa big lever 16" 44 mag model 1892 that I picked up today.

Being in California and having picked up the Chiappa at 5pm on a Friday, the Chiappa HQ was closed, so I couldn't call to request info on my new toy until Monday. :( Oh well, time to take to the iterwebs to hunt and peck for info on my own.

Looking forward to conversing with other members here, learning, and hopefully contributing with whatever information I can provide to help others here as well.

Hello there and welcome to the forum. I'm close by in Corona.

Welcome, and don't forget to post your caliber on the sticky thread. .44 needs all the votes it can get.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

Ver2cal, we're almost neighbors, probably have shot at the same ranges too.

Sadly, my usual spot closed earlier this year and the only ranges close enough to be convenient are indoor ranges. :( We'll have to meet up one day and have a range day.

I look forward to it.

So far I've only brought my Rossi .357 to an indoor range. I really need to get to an outdoor range to sight in my scout scope set up and see what it can really do.

I alternate between RMR on Sampson Ave, which is on the border between Riv. and Corona, and the other indoor range is RISR on Sterling Ave in Riverside.

I haven't shot outdoors since Steele Peak closed in March. :(

RISR on Sterling is where I go at least once a month!
