I was out and about on April 1st, stopped by a gunshop in Corbin KY.
Im usually in there every other week.
I was about to leave and saw a 94 in the rack.
I asked to look it over.
Marked $899.99
I asked if they were flexible on the price, they said $825.00
I said sold.
Winchester 94, serial number dates it to 1956, new unfired, but no box.
98% condition, bluing 100%, wood has a few small storage marks, but have to look hard to find them.

Thank you GRV.
It is 30-30.
Ive been looking for a pre 64 for almost ten years.
Especially a 1956 model, because that is when i was born.
But I had given up sometime back.
I figured I would settle for one of the beatup pre 64s on gunbroker.
Usually the ones that look like they were dragged down a gravel road behind a pickup truck start around $600.00
Trouble now, I dont want to shoot it, so it may be a safe queen.
Back almost 40 years ago, my sisters ex husband had stolen all of my Dads and both Grandfathers firearms.
My one grandfather was born in 1892 and raised on a farm, he had some firearms that would be worth a small fortune today.
All gone.
So this 94 is something I can pass down to my Son and Grandson.
When I left the gunshop, I went across town to another gunshop, took it in to show it off.
Guy behind the counter offered me $1000.00.
Told him no, then he says $1200.00, told him no again.
Then he tells me I can get $1500.00 easy at the local gunshow in Somerset.
Told him no again.
It is not about money.
I wouldnt take $5000.00 for this rifle.

Very nice. Poor thing, waiting all those years to go hunting. I would have to take it!

Greetings
If it will help you any I would happily fire off 5 rounds of ammo. Nothing worse than having a rifle you are afraid to shoot for any reason.

Thank you Ranch Dog.
It is tempting to take it out, but if i got a scratch on it, it would be heart breaking.
Ive got a 94AE made in 2003 that i can use as a beater gun.

tempted to cut down the 94AE to 16.5
