Went Squirrel Hunting today
It was a nice walk in the woods, took the very first 22 I ever owned a Winchester 69A. Had a pleasant hour and a half stroll through the autumn hardwoods at the state hunting and fishing area. Sitting on a downed tree watching the tree tops I saw a shadow pass over and figured my red tail friend was back. When the second shadow appeared I figure maybe buzzards as there were a couple road kill on the side of the roads that passes these woods. The birds finally driffet over a patch of open sky and I was astonished to see the white heasds and white under side of the tails on a pair of bald eagles. I had heard there was a pair somewhere in the county down there but because they don't want them distrubed the PDNR guys tend to not broadcast their locations. It was a joy to watch them rdie the thermals overhead for the few minutes they were in sight.
Squirrels? Looks like steak and potatoes tonight.

It sounds like a real nice time, a real plus with the eagles!

Nothing like an armed nature walk on a crisp Autumn day. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the story, Ohio.

$10 per head bounty at work right now. I only have a pellet gun (that reinstalled the rear sight on today) and a .38. Need to come back with my Marlin 60 and OMSS with quiet .22s.

Re: Went Squirrel Hunting today
Tried my OMSS Sunday AM but missed one at 30 yds and it was too loud (older German subsonic). Brought my plain ole 10/22. . Spent $0.16 to earn $20 so far.GasGuzzler wrote:$10 per head bounty at work right now. I only have a pellet gun (that reinstalled the rear sight on today) and a .38. Re: Went Squirrel Hunting today
We need bounties like this in my city I'd get a permit n use my pellet gun they're like rats everywhere. I could trap them to I here them fighting n see them stealing each others winter stashes making holes in my yard. I think this year tree rats are going to be trapped. Regardless
