My cousin needed to make room in his gun safe and handed down his father's Winchester 69a (circa mid 1940's) to me. It's a bolt action 22 with a 5 round magazine. It's got a rear aperture sight, a hooded front sight, and shoots ridiculously straight.

After shooting my .357 Rossi 92 for a while even with soft hand loads, I was still checking every other round on the Winchester to make sure it actually fired (they all did). It's that quiet and smooth and a fun pea shooter.

Since it didn't happen without pictures, here they are:

VERY SWEET!

I'm a sucker for a nice rimfire OR a nice Winchester.

Exactly what I started with minus the after market sights. Still have it and it still shoot. Back when I had a little old Weaver 4x on it, still have it but it's a bit cloudy.

Make smoke,
