Model 12's are a work of art IMHO. The action if flawless. And their fit to shoulder is unsurpassed. Bring them up. pull the trigger and you have dinner. I've never owned one. Hopefully, one day
I don't want to hijack this thread, but I just had to post my model 12 hunting experience.

Very nice. I just got one to try out for turkey hunting. Looks like yours. That was one of Ernest Hemingway's favorite shotguns.

I like them pretty well.
Not so much that I'd pay a premium for one however all other things being equal.

Hey AK -
You should be able to score a barrel for your Winchester 12 pretty easily, as I've been on the watch over the years for shotgun barrels in general.
I am NOT going to hijack your thread.....BUT.....
I just got my late 40's/early 50's Western Field SB620A 20 gauge pump from my FFL and it is so minty it's not even funny! I WILL make a thread about it, once I get some time.
Congrats on a classic pump shotgun - BTW the 12 used the 97 as it's base point for design - yep, it owes a good bit to JMB once again!
Have fun - Adam Lee
