thanks

I have always enjoyed cutting the brass open like that. It shows without a doubt what is going on.

But now I have to check about 200 pieces of brass to see how many of them are like this...not fun!

Good info. What are the 38 Spec and 357 brass headstamps?

Do you mean specifically the cut away ones?

If not, then the brass I used in the testing was a mix that I have accumulated over the past 40 years. I like to do my testing this way because that's how I will end up loading after finishing the testing. If one particular brand of brass shows pressure earlier than the rest, then the rest all get loaded down to that brass's level. I'm not going to sort pistol brass just to get another half grain of powder in it.

SORRY, but that aint gonna happen. Why bother?

LilGun showed me with the 360, that it was superior to H110 at getting better velocity, with less pressure signs, so.....no need to go any farther with it than I have done already. That's why I did not even try it in the second round of testing with the 357 cases.

What's that about beating a DEAD horse? My whole goal in this was to find the fastest load I could with this heavy bullet, and LilGun showed me that it was going to be "the one". Earlier you had mentioned 2400 as a goon one to try, but because of my past experience with it, I knew that it would max out way before the other powders did, so there was no need to even consider it. Don't get me wrong. It's a great powder, but just not the one for what I wa trying to do. I tend to reference RDs data a good bit when doing something like this. And I notice that LilGun almost always seems to nudge out H110 by a little.

Were I trying to find the max load, with a bunch of different powders. Then I would have gone farther with the testing. But that was not my goal.

I'll have to go look but I think the 357 was a starline and the 38 was some odd brand that I had picked up at the range.
