I have .32WCF dies, brass, and cast lead if that helps you figure me out. Hahaha.

No gun to shoot them in?

30c really is not very interesting in a rifle. To many other cartridges can do better than it does. And in the pistol it is really kinda silly and aggravating. But it is just so dang accurate.

Ruger first made them so we could make use of all the surplus ammo. That was a long time ago, and they are still making the thing, so somebody is buying them or they would quit producing it. I can't understand why they won't offer it with another cylinder in 32-20. I bet they would see a surge in sales if they did. The soft lead bullets in factory ammo would swage down the extra few thousandth, no problem.

Ruger did make a .32-20 dual cylinder BH in the '80's that came with a .32 Magnum cylinder too under the Buckeye line.

They're usually near four digits now if you can find one.

I agree the 30C in a rifle is kinda a why today.
It USED to make a tiny bit more sense as a moderate fun gun and home defense round for the youngins and the recoil shy. Today just about anything a .30 M1 Carb can do a decent AR can do better and a 6.8 version AR does a LOT better.

That said, I did want a M1 Carb and wound up with one of the replicas from IAI and later a WWII era Winchester with the spring tube receiver.

I have one of those too.Heavy as lead cause the grip and ejector housing is steel, like it should be. I like the gun, but it is only half as accurate as the 30c, using the same bullet, powder, and charge. I cannot figure out whats wrong with that gun.
I've had it since the early 90s and have never shot a magnum in it yet. Well, not an h&R magnum. When your a reloader, you can hot rod the 32-20, enough to make the H&R seem puny.

Archer,

More than a few times, when I have taken my army guns out to a group shooting. People like the 03a3 ok but it is slow, the M1A is cool, they always like the M1 Garand with that funny clip thingy, but every time they try to buy the M1 carbine! Everybody loves shooting that thing, and so do I.

360 Dan Wesson cartridge in a Rossi 92 357

Post by GasGuzzler »

It's little and much lighter. I guess that appeals.

It's been said the .32WCF Buckeye is heavy not just because of the steel ERH and GF, but because of the .30 cal (sort of) holes in a full size cylinder.

little, lighter, not so loud, and much less recoil. All that makes it a fun gun to shoot. And a lot easier to "HIT" with too.

On one of those outings I spoke about. The money guy in the group had not one, but two 50 BMG guns. An Accuracy Int. and a Barrett, and had an AI in 338 lapua too. It seemed to pizz him off, that all the other guys there liked my 30 carbine better than his "real guns"!
It really got him when I started making the soda cans and milk jugs lined up sitting in the dirt, leap into the air 20 feet high, and all he could do was to punch holes in them. (the secret is to aim 1 inch BELOW the cans, that way the blast of dirt will throw the can straight up). The new guys didn't know that and thought that 30C was badd azz!

Same thing happened when I got out the S&W 1917 45 ACP, they liked it a lot better than the S&W 500 the money guy brought.

Well yes but....I took em out to the shop and weighted them both, And I lied when I said the 32-20 had a steel ejector housing, it does not. I might have changed it to the aluminum one, I don't remember for sure. The 30C does have a steel one that I got from Midway.

The 32 out weighs the 30C even tho the 30C has a longer barrel AND a smaller bore and steel housing. Put a steel housing on the 32 and it'll be 1-2 ozs heavier steel. (pun)

Got the 357 reamed to 360 and a few rounds loaded up. Waiting for it to stop raining to see how they do. They feed great like they were made for the gun.

I loaded a ladder using 158 JSPs and 300mp powder. I like the 300 powder since I got some blazing fast loads with it in 357. And it does not seem to be to peakey, when you get up to max levels.

My die's for the 30R92 and 30x360 turned out pretty good, but I have to make more as the neck does not size down quite enough for a jacketed bullet to fit tight enough. The spring back of the brass makes a lot of this just guess work for me. I need the practice making remers anyway, so I don't mind.
