Ok, I was curious because if it works I'd try it. I have skinny fingers but I have fat fingeritis as well.

CLP isn't totally bad but RemOil is something I avoid. I think I have a couple samples of it but it is NOT a persistent lubricant and I've seen and heard horror stories of folks who relied on it to protect a finish only to see corrosion in short order.

Environment?

There's really no corrosion here.

I'm currently in the Desert and except for folks who store their guns under the output from their swamp cooler it isn't too bad here but we still see some rust from time to time.

BUT I grew up in North Georgia, had kinfolk in Tennessee, went to school with buds from Florida and spent about three years about a decade ago working in Mobile Alabama and Memphis Tennessee at one point so I've seen brand new reloading dies rust after being wiped off and allowed to sit on the bench overnight and rifles freckle and rust sitting in the closet where someone forgot and left a finger print on them putting them away.

Well as a follow-up ... it racked yesterday but wasn't as easy as day one after cleaning.
Figure I better clean and lube er again.

HEY, we may see some sunshine for a welcome change. I haven't really kept track but
I think it's been like ten consecutive days of some rain, heavy at times.

Sick of the rain here too, yard is flooded again but forecast to dry up nicely over next couple of days. Regarding what Archer said about overnight signs of surface rust from his days back east, I can attest too. I don't hear anyone mention Ballistol. I have some of all the lubes mentioned but I think the Ballistol is consistent for being an all around good cleaner and protector. It ain't cheap, but worth it IMHO.

Environment must be a factor. My Lee dies get a slight tint to them in my garage but my high polished de-blued steel never shows fingerprints I fail to wipe off nor does any alloy I have corrode. I bet I just don't use the items enough.

As a follow-up, took the Buckmark to the range today and it racked slick as a
whistle !
Safe to say the Quantum Hot Sauce will be my go to lube for the slides.

Oh ... tried the Otis Ear Shields again, my opinion wasn't changed, don't
waste your money.

Jim, just looked at this stuff on Cabelas' web site and see they have both an oil and a grease. I take it you used the oil. The reviews seem to follow your experience. I need to do something with the trigger assembly on the wife Savage A17 in spite of several cleanings and lubings the disconnecter still wants to hang up on occasion. Think maybe I'll give this a try and it's a good excuse to visit Cabels.
