Perfect day to test the shields only one other shooter there
this morning and he was shooting a LOUD AR. Was sighting it
in so he wasn't blasting away.

I was disappointed ... the shields did not live up to their ad.
Was even worse when another guy settled in and what was
he shooting ... another AR.

With an AR on either side of me I proceeded to shoot the
mild .357 loads. Not for long before I retrieved the electronic
muffs from the truck. World of difference !

I wouldn't recommend these after just a few hours at the
range. What's the old saying ... you get what you pay for !

I moved over to the pistol range where there were a couple
of .380s and a 9mm. Noticeable difference in a good sense
but for all around protection these didn't cut it in my opinion.
I'll give them another try but don't expect my opinion will
change.

How'd I do ???

Took six tries to get in the diamond then I settled down ... Jim

Well I was hoping they might perform better. My ears ring bad enough so I always try to double up. But with a rifle it's usually a pain with the big ear muffs.

Thanks guys, just finished cleaning the brass from the last two trips.
Think I can patch that target for at least one more go around.

Yeah I was hoping for the best too, Had my ball cap turned around
for a better fit of the shields. The instructions say to place them on,
tilt them forward and then back. I suppose that's to seat the foam in
your ears ? If the weather stays fairly mild I'll make another trip and
not wear a cap. May have better results ?

I don't think these would work worn like Hickok's. I tried.

Morning Jim, sorry you had to be the guinie pig for us. I think we would all like to find a low profile for hearing protection that works well. Im envious youve been able to get out to shoot, ive been wanting to test out my 45colt loads in regular and magnum primed for a few weeks now but havnt been able too as yet, hopefully soon.
