A friend asked me to sight in his M1 Carbine.
It's shooting 10 inches high at 50 yards. This should be fun.

For some fascinating reading, here's a link to the formerly restricted
"Infantry Operations and Weapons Usage in Korea, Winter of 1950-51"
prepared by the Operations Research Office.

The section primarily focused on the M1 Carbine starts at pdf page 87.

Thanks! It looks like a good read especially in light of serving with the 8th Army in Korea! I downloaded it to my tablet.

I didn't mention it but I have a Universal Carbine, just don't shoot it much.

The M1 Carbine and the m14 has been on my bucket list for ages. The M1 Carbine being my first choice. Mr. Lucky, the manual is a great read. The after action reports in it is like nothing i have come across before. So little written about that "police action". Thanks for sharing!

Probably shooting high because some yahoo in the past filed down the front sight. Or maybe he doesn't know how to use the rear aperture? Love my M1 carbines, great fun they are.

I tend to prefer the M1A/M14 or more likely the M1 Garands but the carbines are fun little plinkers.

I own a Winchester spring tube receiver and one of the IAI's before Kahr/Thompson bought them out.
The newer Thompson version I'm not so fond of and the IAI I've got needs some more breaking in but the Winchester shoots.
