I got to practice today a little with my 44Mag Ruger:
I am shooting the RD (made by NOE, conventional lube grooves), in 265gr, GC, sized to .432", using 45-45-10 from White Label. These are low-medium loads, at about 1100 fps out of my 4 5/8" Ruger.
This was my best 50 yard, red dot 1x scope, from the bench:
With my last 5x shots, I tried at the 100 yard target which I already had used for my 45-70 plinking loads (also a RD bullet!), but since I had taken photos of the holes from the 45-70, I was able to "remove" by coping over white/green as necessary, to show just the slightly smaller 44Mag holes. At 100 yards the red dot covered the complete green area, so it was actually not hard to align it:
I am shooting against another 265 gr from Accurate, but so far the RD bullet is shooting a little better groups

Re: RD (by NOE) 44Mag bullet - shooting range report
Thanks Michael. Those were my best groups at 50yd, so I still need more practice to be more consistent. My groups with the 45-70 Handi rifle (with 4x scope) are about 1/2 as big, so I am happy with these results so far.
I would love to try hunting for the first time, specially at wild hogs here in Texas since they are a pest/menace now-a-days. I just turned 50, and I have been shooting for about 20 years, but never had the opportunity to go hunting yet.

You should be able to find a place in SW through NW of Ft Worth to test those bullet on hogs. There are a lot of them up there.
