I just put peep on and removed safety but I'm noticing when hammer is cocked the round I'm assuming striker is moving in and out when I tip gun around. Is this normal. Didn't notice before I took safety off. When I took safety out there was a ball bearing and small spring. Do I need these?

I haven't had one yet so I cannot help here. Someone I bet has if not come Monday call Steve he will tell you what is or isn't right about it. Mine has nothing lose that I've noticed cocked or not. I hope someone will chime in. Keep us posted.

Yea it may have been there all along but just noticed it after putting peep on. Tilting barrel up and down you can hear it.

It's part of the safety assembly. Not needed for peep sight.

to what Monk said and check to see if sight is snug with the hammer down and when cocked.
Steve has commented that every sight might not be a tight / snug fit in the safety bore. I had
to shim mine.

I've got to admit I'm rather confused by the initial question.

The firing pin should be free floating. So if you tilt the gun back and forth the pin should fall fore and aft and may make a noise.

The ball and spring are part of the safety and unless the sight reuses them they are not required.

It sounds like the sight may require fitting to insure it is not moving during the loading or firing cycle.

I used a "little" piece of thin aluminum foil off of a wrapper from something.
Just long enough to "start" into the safety bore along with the sight and
roughly half the radius. On the opposite side of the groove of course.

Thin strip(s) of plastic will work too.

Yes the pin is free orating as should be. I put peep on and shot 5rounds but shot high about 4 inches at fifty yards so I turned rear sight down one full turn. Will fire tomorrow before leaving for work. Good news is left and right was perfect. These were factory loads. Will have to load more up

That's not bad for the first "orientation" shots, seems they originally shoot high.
If your windage is perfect that's a real plus and height is easy to adjust. Having
said that I shoot all over the place due to more variables than I care to discuss.
But some are bullet weight, powder and charge and the most important ... me.
Are you sighting in using a bench rest ? I have better luck just supporting my
16" .357 on my elbows. Currently I'm going for consistency with 125gr copper
coated ( Rainier ) bullets over 4.7gs of TiteGroup.
