powder flash when shooting from the hip...

Good day folks and welcome to me (my first post on this forum).

My CJ is a killer on one's left forearm when firing from the hip, as all of them are from the factory.

NAY I thought, I don't like this even though I've not fired it from the hip as yet, but I WANT to.

SO:

I decided to fit and impromptu flash shield. Easy to do. It's plastic, from the hardware, and fitted easily.

No, the ritufel isn't that dirty, it just looks like it.

I hope this helps someone.

Welcome to the forum! I learned to be very careful when shooting it from a box stand!

I put 10 rds of .410 and same of .45 LC with no issues. I shot from a bag with white paper under it, nothing at all came out.

Works peachy.

Good deal. Is is just a piece of PVC pipe? If so, what diameter.

Actually Michael, it's a piece of shim used in a round something or other that I had in my junque drawer. If I had to guess I'd say it would work out to about 1.5" OD.

hth,
