Rossi Rifleman

Today took the newly acquired M92 to the range. Wow! was I impressed! I had problems getting the rifle together but with the help of the good members here, my rifle is now range ready.

Using a Lyman 225 grain lead RN bullet, and backed by 4.3 grains of Unique the rifle printed at 25 yrds just about 2 inches left and low from point of aim. The group was a nice 3 shot cluster all touching. Then I backed it out to 50 yards now everything was dead on in the center of a 6 inch bull. I then raised the rear sight one notch and put rounds on target at 100 yards. All shots here were with in a 5 inch spread.

I am really glad I picked this rifle up. Sadly my 2 daughters have taken a shine to it and are now asking when are we going to take it out again!

Good news, Chuck. I bet you'll find it gets even more repeatable/accurate on target as you get more and more rounds through it too.

Sounds like you have a winner. Im glad to hear it keep us posted to your outings with her.

Load up some 260 grain bullets with 18-20 grains of 2400 and let them shoot them. You'll have your gun back I bet!

Guys, The daughters fell in love with the 92'. So much in fact that both, BOTH, are wanting one and are on the hunt for one each.
I agree, with more practice and tweaking of the load, I can see this being a darn near perfect rifle to take care of the varmint problem I have.

I really need more info like this, my days in service, I qualified expert with the M16 and the colt 45 1911a, given the M16 to get that rating you needed to shoot from three positions and three distances, the longest at 500m, the pistol was at 50ft, no variations. When I got into shooting now some years later I felt pretty cocky about what kind of results to expect. Now I come back from the range sometimes feeling I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Any tips would be appreciated.

I find the hardest thing is going from modern combat arms to rossi's Aiming from 12 oclock to 6 oclock sight pictures. I always struggle till I find the sweet spot. sometimes it is almost inbetween. lol
