LOL, AK

The lady I should have tipped was the mother of a hunting lodge owner in Alabama.
She prepared all the meals for the hunters.
It was Southern style home cooking at it's finest.

I told her "Ma'am, if my ex-wife cooked as good as you, I'd still be married."
She grinned from ear to ear.

She also said at breakfast one morning (with no malice in her heart)
that her definition of a Yankee was "someone who didn't like grits."

Archer,

Definitely prefer the extra sharp! Love cheesy biscuits too, and I don't mind if they have a little honey brushed on top before baking.

One year for Christmas, one of my sons gave me a cheddar sampler, with a half pound each of aged cheddars, 1 year 3 year 5 year 7-9-12 years and a special 15 year, which was the oldest that this farm had ever sold. The 1-3-and 5 were very good but not a lot different. The 7 and 9 was WOW and had the little white grains in it. The 12 was a little over the top for me (hey, you got to draw the line somewhere!) and that 15 was strong enough to wake the dead. When you got it to within 3-4 inches of your mouth, and caught a whiff of the aroma, you knew that you had better brace for IMPACT.

Yeah, big difference between mixing in the sugar and a spoonfull added to the inside. I think Ma use to do that when we did not have a desert on the table, which was a rare happening. Cause that woman loved sweets...........and so do I!

Well you know that in the south, we like to deep fry everything, so they say  Hey??? deep fried biscuits?
