Have any of you tried the PPU 45-70 ammo? It is the cheapest ammo I have found. I have shot .223 and .243 loads from them and they were very good.

Prvi Partizan, Yugoslavian. Headstamped nny and/or PPU. Generally good stuff.
I've used some of their .308 and 9mm and I've reloaded a lot of their brass over the years in a lot of calibers.

OTHER than some .30-30 I bought back around 1990 or so I haven't had any issues with any of their stuff.
The only problems I had with the .30-30s were that the primers were apparently lacquer coated and left some gold tone specs on the bolt face that needed a little light scrubbing to remove and the brass gave out after about 3-5 loadings near maximum and became hard to chamber in spite of full length resizing so I ditched them.

I'm getting ready to buy a couple hundred to maybe 400 rounds of their stuff in an oddball caliber and figure that'll be about a lifetime supply for the bolt gun in question especially counting reloading.

I've only shot it in my 7.62x39 and it shot very well. This round nose soft point expands well and sticks together. I've take a number of animals with it.

Reload their brass all the time. Better get it before our Commander in Clown bans it...

I agree with Tuco on both counts. All the Yugo branded brass I've bought has been top notch. That whole area of the world is very old when it comes to guns and ammo though so go figure they make good stuff as they have been at it since a minute less than Beretta. I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to try their .45-70 even if my shoulder squirms at the thought of such a thing.

I've shot about 40 rds through mine...not a single problem. The shells weren't very pretty, but they fed smoothely, shot mildly, and hit accurately.

I have heard that the .338 Lapua brass is not so hot.

Did you get it?
How did it work out?
