Couldn't decide on a 92 or Rio Grande or a Marlin. Went back and forth, back and forth. Read a lot of posts on this forum. Finally saw a Rio Grande 45-70 on GunBroker that had the right odd color of wood and bought that because the price and shipping were right and I was ready to shoot!
Glad I did. Mine was great right out of the box. I looked at the videos on disassembly and cleaned it up real well. After the second outing I did slick things up a bit, more because I wanted to, as opposed to needing it.
So far I have about 100 rounds through it. Mostly my own 45-70 Blackpowder reloads. Everybody who shoots it loves it.
I'm going to use my Rossi for Ohio deer season this year!
(And probably a 92 in 357 soon... )
Great forum!

Thank you and welcome to the forum. Really great that you guys are going to be able to pursue whitetails with rifles this year. Please keep us posted with your prep work and I'm already looking forward to seeing your photos of a whitetail down!justchecking wrote:Great forum!
