The rear sight that I had changed out finally got to me. As the rifle was fired, it would slowly move to the right.
Solution Cut the long ears off the original sight and reinstalled.
Had problem with extraction.
Solution Took a look at my Marlin 95 and reshaped extractor to match.
Had misfires
Solution Switched from Winchester primers to Federal, no misfires.
Shot about 50 rounds at 50 and 100 yards, looking good and functioning great.
Good day at the range with the RG

Ray is this a 30-30 Win or 45-70 Govt? Any day at the range is a good day!

Some Rossis have non standard dovetail slots.Ray384 wrote:The rear sight that I had changed out finally got to me. As the rifle was fired, it would slowly move to the right.

I think Rossi is making them all the standard American size in the new guns now.

I did forget to mention that it is a .30/30. The dovetail was close to as standard size, but it was bigger. I tried shimming it, but it still moved. The original filled the dovetail tighter.

Re: Good day at the range with the RG
I sure wish that Braztech did not try to reinvent the wheel. I'm a fan of of the Taurus handguns and this is the largest issue I have found with them. They even use different dovetail dimensions between generations of the same, specific model. For instance, my PT132 Pro had the rear sight pop off in the first few shots. I recovered the sight but not the set screw. It took several sights and finally shipping the pistol back to them on their dollar to resolve the issue. The pistol was out of service 40 days.Ray384 wrote:I did forget to mention that it is a .30/30. The dovetail was close to as standard size, but it was bigger. I tried shimming it, but it still moved. Re: Good day at the range with the RG
Another great day at the range with my Rossi`s. Shot my RG and my favorite Rossi, ol JW. JW is a 16 inch Rossi 92 in .45 LC with a large loop. Do not ask me why, but JW loves to clang steel at 200 yards. Folks at first laugh at it`s size, but stop when the steel rings.
The RG did it`s share of clanging also, both with cast bullets.
