Thanks to all for clarification. You have to buy in LARGE BULK to overcome the "we are here to save you" fees!!! ;)

I'll just pick up what few items I need locally...............

The fees are no different from what you local shop pays, shipping and HazMat, he passes them on to you and profits from them.

You can bet the farm every LGS is passing the fees and shipping on to you...... I have one small shop close to home and if I only bought for him I would have quit shooting last spring. Just talked to him last week and he said he cannot get anything from his suppliers. One of our members was looking for Power Pistol and I make a point to look once a day and I can't find it anywhere on the web.

If you want to play you better be ready to pay.....

IF you are loading in volume you spread the fee out among your total order.
The shop hopefully does the same. So IF you are buying a pound of new powder to try it makes sense to get it from the local shop as long as they aren't ordering it special for you.

If you are buying the kinds of bulk most of us are used to then it makes sense to go direct and skip the local retailer.
