Dang..... nice shooting Tex!!! I am really getting into these single shots again. Mine is an H&R and I plan on getting several barrels for it. What ammo were you shooting?

My own reloads 55 gr bullets IMR 4064 smokeless powder

This is unfortunate , but true alot of Ross single shots have issues in this area. Its all a gamble in budget arms. Research and D.I.Y. Know how is all that keeps many going. We have threads that have addressed this very issue some with better outcomes than others.

That is a very respectable group for 100 yds. My H&R heavy barrel or CZ 527 in .223 won't do that well. I'm 72 and using my range brass hand loads so that may be a large part of the group size. :roll:

I'm quite surprised that Rossi is not all over the light primer strike problem that I hear about.
Is the firing pin at rest recessed enough to allow adding some length to the pin for a better strike ? :? :?

Lengthen the fireing pin can be sketchy as it could puncher the primer. I'm sure someone has done it. If you do please walk us through your process and sources of info.
