I think I looked through all the pages and didn't find a whole lot on the accuracy of the 44s
Ordered a 16" blued model
What factory loads work well?
Do I need to go ahead and order a .570" front sight?
Handloads/preferred bullet weights?
Thanks!

Re: 44 mag accuracy
They are very accurate rifles, at least that has been my experience. I would wait on replacing the sights until you shot it. Oh, welcome to the forum!

Thanks RD (I'm "Rem141" on Marlinowners, FYI) Just "35Rem" everywhere else.
I can't wait. Seems I ordered at an awful time!
Ordered on Dec 30. KYGUNCO was closed 31, and 1st. They didn't get the FFL until the 3rd, now they are closed yesterday and TODAY! Ugh.
It will get here, someday.
I'm looking forward to it. Should be a real fun gun, with plenty of power, especially for size. A buddy has the 20" 45 Colt.

Re: 44 mag accuracy
I'd be lucky to hit a basketball at 50 yards with the one I have (bought new) It shoots high but its so inconsistent that I really don't know. Unlike my .357 (24") which is a nail driver, the 44 cycles all the ammo I throw a it but it shoots all over the place.

Re: 44 mag accuracy
I've had mine to the range just one time. Tried some 240 gr. XTPs over max charge of 110, as well as some 265 gr. RD rounds over a similar charge.
Both loads shot as close to point of aim as I can hope for with open sights. The front sight height seemed to be pretty much on target. This was at 25-30 yards.
So far, I'm happy with my .44. Hope that yours works well for you.
