Winchester Model 64 .219 Zipper

Just had to share pics of one of my favorite non-Rossi levers.
Don't ask me why but I have always wanted a classic .219 zipper. In 2008 a co-worker told me he had one he wanted to sell but would only sell it if he knew it would go to a good home. Well it came home with me. A 1941 winchester with factory peep and very well taken care of.

The same ballistics as a 5.56 but in a lever? Fantastic!

That gun sure looks like a Winchester model 71 with the pistol grip.
It's in really great shape.

pricedo, I have never seen up close and personal a model 71 but they do look alike. This one is a 64 for sure. Is the 71 a little larger action?

Very nice rifle. The Winchester model 64 is built on the model 1894 action while the model 71 is built on the 1886 action.

Very nice rifle. I had a Marlin 336SC, killed a bunch of coyotes. I sold it a couple of years ago as I had started favoring my 1894CL in 218 Bee over it. Do you reload for the cartridge?

I said the gun looked like a 71 not that it was a 71.
The 71 was manufactured in one caliber & one caliber only..........the 348 Winchester.
The actions as you say are also entirely different.

Yes, I do reload for it. Just one load, a 55 grain jword and 22 Gr. of IMR4895.
I do all my serious rifle reloading on a turret but ran across a LeeLoader in .219 Zipper and could not pass it up. It reminds me of the early days.

I didn't think you implied that, I am the one being educated here. I didn't even know there WAS a model 71. So I am the winner here and thank you for your input. I joined this forum to share my passion AND to learn from others. Now I have to go do some research on the .348. Thanks again.
