polished carrier

Post by Mingokid »

Today I decided to disassemble and see what is impinging on the carrier. It will function if lever is manipulated quickly and with purpose. I followed the instructions listed on the sticky above. Very straightforward and intuitive. I found the carrier appeared to have been "undercoated". I polished the sides where the screw pins hold it in place. Then only polished the flats and angles of the part. Covered lightly with white lithium grease and reassembled in the reverse order. Now the action is as smooth as ever and feeds like a twinkie to a teenager! Thanks for the good instructions and images. MK
