Not a real well known film but I liked the movie "Wil Penny" from the git go. If you haven't seen it, watch it if you can find it.

One movie that never got the praise it deserved was Sam Elliott as Conagher.............very realistic Old West.

True grit. The newest one. (sorry Duke Wayne)
tombstone.
Firefly. It is a short lived sci-fi series. It's basically cowboys in outer space.

Agreed on Firefly they could have gone just about anywhere with that.

There were a few things about the newer True Grit I liked but I don't really think it was that much better than the Wayne version. I think they both had their good points but at the same time both could have been better.

These are all great movies. I really liked The Sackett's........Louis L'Amour.

The Good, the Bad and The Ugly is my all-time favorite.

I am really surprised that no one has mentioned any comedy cowboy stuff. There are several out there. One of my favorites is: "Lust in the Dust". Not %@*&$, Comedy. Also: "The Villain". A total hysterical movie with Kirk Douglas, Ann Margaret, and Arnold Scwarzenegger.

Lust in the Dust has Tab Hunter, Lainie Ksazan, Caesar Romero. Also hysterical.

Both really fun to watch. The villain is on dvd but I think the lust in the dust is only on vhs.

Maybe not the greatest movies ever made but I can remember parts of them after years have passed.
