new from GA
Somehow I missed doing this the other day when I joined. My apologies.
Currently reside in Georgia but miss the West terribly.
I have a 45 colt 92 presafety in a 1/2 octagon configuration which is why I joined. I also joined because I was curious about the man behind ranch dog bullet molds. My father just bought a bunch of the .35 Remington for me to load for him.
I also load for a non-rossi 357 lever gun.

Oh my, nothing to be curious about. I started the forum as I wanted to hear from Rossi owners first hand rather than listen to the negative talk on other forums. They have had a positive influence in my thinking concerning the products but have had a negative influence on my funds!redman2006 wrote:I also joined because I was curious about the man behind ranch dog bullet molds.

Thanks guys. I read a good bit of it before I joined.
I enjoy my old Rossi, but I have to say I am disappointed in the new ones when compared to my old one. I do see how working it up and making it yours is fun though.

I own 3 of the older Rossi 92s (pre Braztech) and feel the same way.
My 92s were made after the CNC upgrade of the Brazil factory but prior to the Taurus/Braztech acquisition.
My guns DON'T have the bolt safety or the hammer lock.
I don't own one of the newer Braztechs but have tune-up a couple for friends who bought them.
Just my personal opinion..........others might feel different.
The main thing is to enjoy your Rossi no matter when it was made.
They can be modified to be whatever you want them to be with a normal level of skill & dexterity.

Pricedo,
The bluing on this rifle really is better than any I have owned before with perhaps on exception, a browning 1886 src clone-pre safety. That rifle was just too nice to take out. I sold it rather than let it stay in the safe.
The wood on this rifle, well, I think it is just big chucks of the same wood used to make pallets that they ship the rifles on....lol. it is a bit odd.

That can be changed...... There are quite a few on this site that have done a refinish and discovered with a little work you can have one heck of a nice looking stock.
