any mauser enthusiasts?
love mausers... just finished building a 308. took a chilean 1912-61 large ring mauser action, thred on a F54 Adams and Bennett barrel, reamerrentals.com pull through 308 winchester reamer, $10 timney trigger (story here), leopold 1 piece mount, BSA Majestic DX 4-16x44 with EZ Hunter reticle, and modified the factory stock.
* $10 Timney. Went to a local LGS and they had a mauser parts section. Awesome! In this section there was a white aluminum trigger labeled "FN 98 Mauser; for parts only" I asked what was wrong with it and the lady said she didn't know and they were selling it for parts only. Add to cart! Called timney in the car on the way home, they said send it in, they'll fix or replace it. Lifetime TRANSFERABLE warranty! Sent it in. 2 weeks later, package from Timney!!! It was a NEW sportsman trigger. The old one was unrepairable.

Greetings
My most accurate 30-06 is a Mauser CZ Mark X. Have a 1906 with a .308 barrel (Israel) that is a great trunk gun. But then there are 3 1896 Broomhandles. Matching stocks and one is a Flatside but not Italian. I will see if I have pictures on computer.

Re: any mauser enthusiasts?
Well, this particular mauser was all matching #'s minus the cleaning rod. If it had been the original 7x57 I wouldt have touched it, but since it was converted over to 7.62x51 in '63, figured what the heck.
I had one C96 a while ago. It was a mid war Bolo. Took it in to have the sear replaced since it wouldn't engage and never saw it since.
Have a turk t38 action thats sporting a modified 8x57 military barrel, but tryint to trade into a 6.5x55 to cut and make a 6.5 creedmoor or a 7x57 barrel to make a 7mm-08 or leave 7x57 since I load for it already.

Yugo M24/47:
Sighting in some cast loads at the range:
I think this was 17gr of 2400 under a 205gr Lee 8mm:
The 205gr and the 175gr Lee 8mm molds make these:
This is my first Mauser and it will NOT be my last...

Mauser man, I am.
I know there are stronger, slicker, lighter, "better" actions, but the Mauser is my singular preference in a bolt-gun. Wait, I DO have one bolt-gun that's not a Mauser; a CZ 527 in .223.

CZ 527... I'm jealous, except I would want one in 7.62x39mm... I think the 527 is actually a Mauser action, a scaled down version.

agreed I like the bolt guns in 7.62x39 though the zatava m85 bolt action can be had at a good price in .223 or 7.62x39 one of these days I will get one.massmanute wrote:Jeff H wrote:Mauser man, I am.
