Which tool is the best for pulling cast bullets?
It appears I wasted $15 on the plastic "hammer" type. Last night I tried pulling some 525gr piledrivers from some 45-70 new brass with no luck. I then had no luck with it pulling 44 mag bullets either. Whatever tool it takes it is going to need to grip that bullet well, particularly those 525's which had the LFCD used on them. I did manage to pull a few of them by drilling a hole through the bullet and putting a nail thru the hole and using my press to extract the bullet but that is messy, slow, and not worth the effort just to recover a little brass. I was hoping to reuse everything, due to the component shortage here for such things as primers which we haven't seen ANY on the shelves in months with no relief in sight..

Yep the wire diagonals and press worked well, liberating some partially resized 44Mag brass that I had loaded to fit a marlin but were too fat to fit the new SBH cylinder. Threw the bullets in a bucket to maybe melt down if I manage to start casting.
