Sounds like you are well on your way to being a level I Gunsmith.... :lol: Makes you feel good when you take on a problem and fix it yourself. After you let that mule kick you a few times give us a report after you heal up.....just joking its not that bad. I always loved a gun that lets you knows its there.

Same thing happened to me. One thing to look for is to make sure the rear barrel band is sitting flush on the barrel. Mine wasn't and the upward pressure was crushing the mag tube against the screw and after not many shots the band, screw and mag cap screw went to heaven.

Still think their a good rifle,its just the QC dude's drink too much. Hang in there gman and just remember that good Rossi's aren't made in Brazil.
