Mr. Surveyor, just a little historical info. Around 1930, S&W brought out a .38 Special revolver built on their .44 frame. Shortly thereafter extra hot ammo was made *ONLY FOR FIRING IN THE LARGER FRAMED REVOLVERS*. So, you had normal .38 wadcutters shooting at about 700 fps, but the .38-44 load shot 158 grain bullets at 1,150 fps. Some say this whole idea (urban legend???) was attributed to the cops being able to penetrate the car bodies the bank robbers were driving away in.

Rule of thump says that US Made +P is SAAMI +10% and +P+ is SAAMI +20%
CIP for .38 Special is around SAAMI + 25%

357 Magnum SAAMI is 38 Special SAAMI x 2
357 Magnum CIP is 38 Special SAAMI x 2

ANY Load including .357 Magnum +P should be perfectly safe, in a .357 Magnum Rossi 1892 Lever Action.
(Use my advice at your own risk)

I wrote with Buffalo Bore about their 360 Grains +P+ .44 Magnum, and they state, that a Rossi .44 Mag is way stronger, than ANY Revolver, and I can safely use that load, in my Rossi
Only issue is, that it need to be single loaded, as the COAL is far too long, for the magazine.
Happy Shooting from Greenland
